Winch-out and vehicle recovery

A winch-out pulls a stuck vehicle back onto solid ground with a cable from the truck. We use it for cars that slid into a ditch, sank in wet grass or mud, or rolled off a soft shoulder. If the car is undamaged, you can often drive away afterward.

West Georgia has a lot of red clay, and it turns slick fast. Summer thunderstorms soak grass lots and gravel driveways, and the back roads in Paulding and western Douglas County have steep ditches with soft shoulders. Spinning the wheels usually digs the car in deeper, so stop and call.

If a vehicle is in or near water, such as a flooded creek crossing, do not try to reach it. Call 911 if anyone is inside.

Winch-out questions

How much does a winch-out cost?

It depends on how far the vehicle is from solid ground and how deep it is stuck. Send a photo by text, and we can usually quote the job before we arrive.
