FAQ

Questions drivers ask us

Short answers to what people ask most when they call. If yours isn’t here, call and ask. It costs nothing.

Call (770) 555-0142 Open 24 hours, 7 days

General

Are you open 24 hours?

Yes. Call any time, day or night, including weekends and holidays. A person answers, not a menu.

What areas do you cover?

We are based in Powder Springs and cover Douglasville, Lithia Springs, Austell, Hiram, Dallas, Villa Rica, Mableton, Marietta, Smyrna, Kennesaw and the west side of Atlanta along I-20. If you are just outside those areas, call and ask.

How do you price a tow?

A hook-up fee plus a per-mile rate for the distance to where the vehicle is going. Roadside jobs like jump starts and lockouts are a flat service-call price. You get the total on the phone before we send a truck.

What information do you need when I call?

Where you are (an address, cross streets, a mile marker or a dropped map pin), the year, make and model of the vehicle, what happened, and where you want it taken.

What forms of payment do you take?

Cash, credit and debit cards, and Zelle. You get an itemized receipt for insurance or rental-company reimbursement.

Do you work with insurance or roadside plans?

Most insurers and motor clubs reimburse you when you use an outside towing company. Call your provider to check, then keep our itemized receipt for the claim.

What should I do while I wait on the highway?

Pull as far onto the shoulder as you can and turn on your hazard lights. If traffic is close and fast, stay in the car with your seatbelt on. Do not stand between your car and traffic.

Can you tow an electric or all-wheel-drive car?

Yes. We move EVs and most AWD vehicles on a flatbed with all four wheels off the ground, which is what most manufacturers require.

Do you tow heavy trucks or RVs?

No. We handle light-duty vehicles: cars, SUVs, pickups, minivans and motorcycles. For box trucks, semis or RVs, call a heavy-duty towing company.

Can I ride in the tow truck?

Usually one passenger can ride along in the cab. Tell us when you call so we can plan for it.

How fast can you get to me?

It depends on where you are and where our trucks are at that moment. We give you an honest arrival estimate on the phone before you agree to anything, and we call or text if it changes.

My child or pet is locked in the car. What do I do?

Call 911 first. A closed car in a Georgia summer gets dangerously hot within minutes, and emergency services can respond faster than any tow company.

What is Georgia’s Move Over law?

When you approach a stopped emergency vehicle with flashing lights, or a stopped tow truck, recovery, highway-maintenance or utility vehicle with flashing lights or cones, move to a lane that is not next to it if you safely can. If you cannot, slow below the speed limit and be ready to stop (O.C.G.A. § 40-6-16).

Towing

How much does a tow cost in Powder Springs?

Local tows are priced as a hook-up fee plus a per-mile rate. We give you the full number on the phone before dispatch, based on where the car is and where it is going. Night, holiday and off-road work can change the price, and we tell you if they apply.

Can you tow my car if I am not with it?

Yes, if you can show you own it and tell us where the keys are. Call us, and we will explain what we need before the truck arrives.

Do you tow electric vehicles?

Yes. Most EVs should ride on a flatbed with the drive wheels off the ground, which is how we move them. Tell us the make and model when you call.

Flatbed towing

Is a flatbed tow more expensive than a wheel-lift tow?

Sometimes slightly, depending on the job. For AWD, EV and damaged vehicles it is the only safe option, and it is cheaper than a transfer case or a motor repair.

Can a flatbed load a car that will not roll?

Yes. The truck’s winch pulls the vehicle up the deck. We use skates or dollies if a wheel is locked.

Motorcycle towing

Can I ride with you to the shop?

Usually, yes. One passenger can ride in the cab. Tell us when you call.

Roadside assistance

Do I need a membership to get roadside help?

No. You pay per call. If you do have coverage through your insurance or a motor club, ask them if they reimburse outside providers, and we will give you an itemized receipt.

What if the roadside fix does not work?

We can tow the vehicle on the same visit. We tell you the tow price before we hook up.

Jump start

Can a jump start damage my car?

Not when it is done correctly. We connect in the right order, ground to bare metal away from the battery, and use a pack with surge protection.

Why do batteries die without warning?

Heat speeds up the chemical wear inside a battery all summer, and cold weather cuts how much power it can deliver. A battery weakened by summer often fails on the first cold morning.

Lockout

Will opening the car damage it?

We use wedges and long-reach tools made for this job. Done correctly, they leave no marks on the door or seals.

What do I need to show you?

Photo ID that matches the registration, or the rental agreement if it is a rental. Once the door is open, the registration in the glovebox works too.

Tire change

Can you fix the flat instead of putting on the spare?

We swap to your spare. Tire repairs should be done at a shop where they can inspect the tire from the inside.

My car has no spare. What now?

Many newer cars come with a sealant kit instead. If that does not work, we tow the car to a tire shop.

Fuel delivery

How much fuel do you bring?

Enough to reach the nearest station, usually two to three gallons.

Accident recovery

Will my insurance pay for the tow?

Georgia is an at-fault state, so the other driver’s liability insurance often pays if they caused the crash. Your own collision or roadside coverage may also cover it. Call your insurer, and keep our itemized receipt.

Can I choose which tow company takes my car after a crash?

Usually, if police have not already called a rotation tow and the vehicle is not blocking traffic. Ask the officer on scene.

Winch-out

How much does a winch-out cost?

It depends on how far the vehicle is from solid ground and how deep it is stuck. Send a photo by text, and we can usually quote the job before we arrive.
