Flat tire change

We take off the flat and put on your spare, torque the lug nuts, and check the spare’s pressure before you drive away. If you do not have a usable spare, or the wheel lock key is missing, we can tow the car to a tire shop instead.

If you get a flat on the highway, pull as far onto the shoulder as you can, turn on your hazards, and stay in the car with your seatbelt on if traffic is close. Changing a tire next to I-20 or I-285 traffic is one of the more dangerous things a driver can do.

Compact spares (donuts) are for short trips at low speed. Most are rated for about 50 mph and 50 to 70 miles. Get the flat repaired or replaced soon.

What we handle

  • Swap to your full-size or compact spare
  • Lug nuts torqued to spec
  • Spare tire pressure checked
  • Tow to a tire shop if there is no usable spare

Call us when

  • Flat or blown tire on the road or in a lot
  • You have a spare but no jack, or the lug nuts will not budge

Tire change questions

Can you fix the flat instead of putting on the spare?

We swap to your spare. Tire repairs should be done at a shop where they can inspect the tire from the inside.

My car has no spare. What now?

Many newer cars come with a sealant kit instead. If that does not work, we tow the car to a tire shop.
